We’；d like to introduce Jane， the creative DIYer behind the blog Oh Curiosity.？ The stairs in the entryway of Jane’；s home were crafted from simple plywood since she couldn’；t afford to install hardwood. A stairway like this left her with two options， either paint the wood or cover them with carpet.？ Here is what they looked like before the makeover.
This blank slate got Jane’；s DIY wheels turning and she decided to give them a dose of style using paint and a stencil pattern. The first thing she did was add moulding and paint the treads to look like marble.
After spending some time on Pinterest， she was inspired by our bone inlay stencil pattern. Jane knew the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit by Kim Myles was the perfect stencil design for her stair riser project.
With this pattern in hand， she was ready to start stenciling!？ Jane painted the stair risers in a color similar to Farrow &； Ball in Pitch Blue， a beautiful navy hue.？ She used blue painter’；s tape to hold the stencil pattern in place and used a stencil brush to paint the inlay inspired design in a color similar to Farrow &； Ball in Comfort White. After each section was painted， she would carefully remove the stencil and reposition until each riser was complete.？ At the end of her project， she stepped back to admire her beautiful work.？ Are you ready to see how her stenciled stairs turned out？？ Here they are!
Jane had this to say about her stenciled stair project， “；I love the look of them! ”； We totally agree!
This project turned out gorgeous. The navy blue and white color combination paired with the sophisticated bone inlay stencil pattern make this DIY decorating project a total win.
Tell us， which stencil pattern would you paint on your stair risers？ We’；d love to read your thoughts in the comments below!
Can’t get enough stenciling fun？
